DILI, 23 february 2023 (TATOLI)- The National Director of Training and Capacity Building of the National Institution of Public Administration (INAP), José de Araujo Chang, said the Government of Timor – Leste through INAP cooperated with Japan International Scholarship (JIS) for sending eight persons of public servants to continue their study in Japan every year.
“We have cooperated with JIS since 2020 up to now. Through this cooperation, every year we send eight persons of public servant to continue their study in Japan,” ” said José de Araujo Chang, when interviewed by TATOLI at his office in Comoro, Dili on thursday.
He added that, the selection process for scholarship candidates conducted by the JIS while INAP’s role during the selection was to monitor the process to ensure the transparency of the tests which is conducted by JIS.
“All the testing subjects and material are provided by the JIS ‘s team, while INAP only supervised the testing process to ensure transparency based on the criteria implemented by JIS,” he said.
Chang said, with this collaboration, the Government of Timor – Leste through INAP has sent around 20 civil servants who are continuing their Master’s degrees at various universities in Japan and around 7 people who have completed their studies.
“Thus, investment in human resources continues to contribute to the national development in Timor-Leste,”
The scholarships provided by the Japanese Government through JIS consist of various fields such as in the fields of Education, Economics, Financial Management, Administration, Law, Tourism, Public Relations, Leadership Management, Accounting, Project Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Agriculture, and others related to human resource development in Timor-Leste.
