WaterAid provides Clean Water to supply more than 70 households in Asumnu village

DILI, 25 march 2021 (TATOLI) – More than 77 households in Asumanu village, Liquica Municipality having access to drinking water from the support of the WaterAid according to the authorities.

In order to provide access to drinking water for all of the population in Asumanu village, local NGO, Fundasaun Hafoun Timor Loro Sa’e (FHTL) invested $45,820.20 to implement the project for the drinking water supply.

The Asumanu local Authority, Bernadino Martins thanked the WaterAid and FHTL for all the generosity supports to improve the supply of drinking water to people in Asumanu, that had not been access to the clean water in a long period.

“We all should responsible for using the water and also saving the water for the future,” he said.

The Head of the Liquiça  municipality, Domingos da Conceição said, the support also help the Estate to reduce the population’s concern on clean water.

“Now-that we already have water, we have to use it properly, if the barrels get destroyed, it will also destroy many households,” he said.

This event is celebrated on the same day as World Water Day.
