DILI, 07 October 2019 (TATOLI)-The Timor-Leste (TL) government has expressed “deep gratitude” to Chinese Government for the accepting T-FDTL members for naval training, during a visit from the Chinese Navy ship, the Qi Ji Guang.
Timor’s Defense Minister, Filomeno da Paixão de Jesus, and the Vice-Chief of FALINTIL defense force (F-FDTL), Brigadier-General Falur Rate Laek, today met Chinese Ambassador to Timor-Leste, Xiao Jiangua, aboard the vessel in Port Of Dili.
Mr Paixao said the training is ongoing.
“We really appreciate [it], because every year, the naval training boat receives more than 18 of our naval force members to participate in training in China and one of our members is one his way there now,” the Minister said.
Minister Paixao and Brig. Gen. Falur Rate Laek welcomed the Chinese delegation of more than 500 members earlier today. The Qi Ji Guang is currently in Dili on a four-day visit.
