Government submitted Proposal of 2021 budget to the Parliament National

DÍLI, October 15, 2020 (TATOLI) – The Ministry of Finance has presented the Proposal of State General Budget (OGE) for 2021 with the amount of 1.9 million dollars. 

The total of 1.9 billion OGE will split into four categories, which is $ 239.26 million is allocated for salaries and wages, US $ 421.49 million is for goods and services, US $ 669.91 million for public transfers, $61.14 million minor capital and $ 503.20 million is distributed to development capital.

The government will also introduce the budget documents which have been categorised into books.

Book 1 (Budget panorama), Book 2 (annual plan), Book 3-A (infrastructure fund), Book 3-B (Municipalities), book 3-C (Special Economic Zones RAEOA-ZEESM), Book 4-AB (rubric budget), book 5 (development partners), book 6 (special fund- FDCH)

The President of the National Parliament, Deputy Aniceto Guterres Lopes, appreciates the Government’s effort to present the budget proposal as stipulated in the law.

 “Government ended up meeting, according to the law, the deadline in relation to the presentation of the Draft Law of the OGE for 2021. Thus, it is then up to the National Parliament to follow up the process, taking it to discussion with its respective approval,” PPN Aniceto Guterres, at a press conference, after the Government document was handed over to the National Parliament.

The numbers of the OGE law proposal will be viewed by the parliamentary table, stating that the legal advisors must then prepare a technical note to be sent to committee C, which deals with Finance Affairs, and to the Permanent Specialized Committee to approve the report and give the opinion.
