DILI, 24 december 2020 (TATOLI)—The Vise-Minister of Interior, António Armindo, said the Government has decided to temporarily close the Airport and the land border since the country has been detected 9 cases of covid-19 infections.
According to him the Government will reactivate the borders in January 2021.
“We don’t know whether the number of cases will rise or will reduce in the future, thus it gives us the space of two weeks to see the progress, after two we will again observe what rules will implement,” António Armindo
The Ministry of Interior has requested the support of the FFDTL and The UPF to control people crossing the border illegally to prevent the disease.
“The Border securities at the Mota Air Border will continue to support the Police Border Unit with the support from FFDTL to alert and rise the visibility to prevent the illegal movement at the borders,” he said.
