DILI, 25 january 2021 (TATOLI)- Country Director of the World Food Programe(WFP) , Dageng Liu, delivers protection equipment to the Secretary of State for Civil protection (SEPS), Joaquim Gusmão, for the storage of food and noon-food items in strategic location.
The items including (3) Mobile storage Unites (MSU), (2) Loudspeaker wireless, (2) megaphone.
“The MSU compose of 32 meter size and 10 meter wide, will use for the storage of food and noon-food items, also will use as evacuation place for disaster victims,” SEPS Joquim Gusmão said.
Gusmão said, the support is based on the early request from SEPS to the WFP to provide the support since Timor-Leste constantly face the extreme climate events that will push millions of people into hunger every year.
Country Director of the World Food Programe(WFP) Dageng Liu,said the extreme climate events pushed millions of people into hunger last year, thus to drive this number down, there is a need to build the resilience infrastructure.
“WFP is proud of its partnership with SEPS and will help install 3 Mobile Storage Units (MSU) for storage of food and non-food items,” Dengeng Liu wrote in his page.
Joaquin Gusmão, thanked the WFP for the support and the cooperation with the Government to help the community from the natural disaster.
