DILI, 02 march 2021 (TATOLI)— Asian Development Bank (ADB) offers 800 items of medical equipment to the Ministry of Health to support the prevention for coronavirus in Timor-Leste.
This equipment composed of beds for the Hospital Intensive Care Unit (ICU), ventilators, oximeter pulse, ultraviolet lamp, thermometer infrared, laryngoscope for the adults and children including immunization light.
“The budget used for the procurement of the equipment is $1.2 million,” ADB Director in Timor-Leste, Sunil Mitra told the Journalists at Lahane Hospital.
General Director for Health Service, Odete da Silva said, these equipment’s will help the MoH to responds to the serious situation of covi-19.
Ms Viegas said the supports including 100 beds, 25 beds will set in Lahane hospital and 75 beds will be placed in Tasi Tolu site.
“Ministry of Health currently targets on treatment for covid-19. We consequently need these equipment’” she said.
At the same time, Ms Viegas thanked the ADB and UNICEF as well as other partners for the supports.
In spite, The Ministry of Health has decided Vera Cruz as Isolation Center for the patient with moderate coronavirus, Lahane Hospital will be established for the patient with serious cases of coronavirus while Tasi Tolu is set as treatment place for the patients with mild cases of coronavirus.
