DILI, March 15, 2021 (TATOLI) – The President for the Council of Minister, Fidélis Magalhães, said, Government decided to extend the isolation zone restricting travel from DILI municipality and mandatory home confinement in the capital until April 2.
The extension was made after the presentation of the epidemiological situation in Timor-Leste by the CIGC authority.
Magalhães said, the border posts installed in Dili remain closed to limit the movement of people from the Capital to other Municipalities, except for certain essential purposes, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, such as seek medical assistance, provide assistance to others who require it for medical reasons, to present complaints to the Ministeriu publico, the ombudsman for Human Rights and Justice or any police station, to participate in police or judicial processes, to purchase essential goods and services or to fulfill professional obligations that have not been waived by the employer.
Magalhães said, for those who wish to travel to other municipalities, should submit the requests letter for the circulation within Dili and to other municipalities to the Director of the Integrated Crisis Management Center, via email.
“People and goods that are exceptionally authorized to enter or leave Dili will only be able to do so through one of the integrated control centers, located at the land entrances east, center and west, and at the sea and air border posts,” Magalhães said.
Maglhães added that the ICC operate on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, between 6 am and 4 pm. They are provided by teams appointed by the Ministers of Interior, Health, State Administration and Agriculture and Fisheries.
Those responsible for these portfolios provide the data of the team members to the Director of the Integrated Crisis Management Center.
“Drivers and other crews of vehicles authorized to transport goods in or out of the Dili Municipality will be replaced by another driver or crew on arrival at the integrated control centers,” he said.
He revealed that, before the replacement, the ICC teams will clean the cabins of the land vehicles for the transportation of goods, in which the driver and other crew must remain, in accordance with the rules to be approved by the Government’s Ministry of Health.
At the same time, he said, the circulation of goods takes place by sea or by air, the crews must remain inside the respective transport or, if this is not possible, in the international areas of the port or airport, where they must wear a mask and maintain a distance of at least one meter from any other individuals.
