Timor-Leste adds 28 more local COVID-19 cases

DILI, march 27, 2021 – Timor-Leste yesterday confirmed 28 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 324 so far, said a Ministry of Health (MoH) statement.

The new infections are all local cases. The local cases included 26 in capital Dili, two in Baucau municipality, the statement said.

The CIGC Coordinator, Rui de Araújo, said the new infections, both in Dili and Baucau, are related to previous existing outbreaks. DILI has registered so far 52 outbreaks and 318 infections since the march 7 outbreak.

Of the 52 outbreaks in Capital, eight are reported more than ten cases. 20 September village recorded 57 infections, Metin I village with 13 cases. BTN II village registered 11 infections, 30 de Agosto Comoro recorded 13 cases. 03 Fatuhada village registered 14 cases, Maucoco-Mate Becora registered 18 cases, while Toko Baru, Culu-Hun regostered 17 infections with additional ten cases are recently detected at the Dili quarantine sites.

Since the new outbreak of local transmission begun in the country, with at least 485 people have been infected so far.
