51 new cases bring Timor-Leste’s COVID-19 total to 382

DILI, 30 march 2021 (TATOLI)-  This afternoon 51 cases have been announced with 11 recoveries bringing the Timor-Leste direct COVID-19 cases to 382. 

The cases were spread over the country with Dili registering new 51 positive cases – bringing the capital’s total to 415 and one case from Viqueque with 45 outbreaks.

The Coordinator of COVID-19 outbreak, Rui Maria de Araújo said, a case confirmed from Viqueque, the infected person is a contact of the previous outbreak from the same municipality.

“939 laboratory tests have been performed, the 176 tested were performed following the request from the authority to leave the city,” Araújo said.

According to Araújo 129 requests have been submittted but only 13 did not meet the requirement underline in the Government’s resolution.

With regard to the case in Viqueque, the coordinator stated that the infected person is a contact of the existing outbreaks. Thus The municipality concerned registers 11 infected in all.

Baucau registered the highest number of cases which is 26. The numbers in this municipality have caused alarm as it was under lock down for many days and only emergency vehicles movement in and out of the province was permitted.

Covalima has also recorded 19 positive cases, bringing the province total to 19.

While Lospalos and Oé-Cusse registered the lowest number of cases in the past few days with just one positive cases in Lospalos and one in Oé-Cusse.   A total of 181 patients have been successfully treated out of the 563 cases with 382 current active cases.
