DILI, may 6, 2021 (TATOLI) – The Covid-19 cases in Timor-Leste rose by 84 today to 1.417 active cases, the COVID-19 Crisis Center said today.
Of the total new infections today, 65 were identified in Dili, 18 in Baucau, and one in Covalima.
According to the ministry, 81 more people were discharged from hospitals, bringing the total number of recovered patients to 1.368.
The Coordinator of the Task Force for the Prevention and Mitigation of the Covid-19 Outbreak of the CIGC, Rui de Araújo, said, among the infections announced today, 54 are men and 30 are women.
The National Health Laboratory (LNS) has carried out 1,102 laboratory tests since yesterday, 53 tests were performed through the context of sentinel surveillance, 94 via contact screening, 116 via random screening, 483 following traveling request, 45 for international trips, and 44 in quarantines. In addition, on May 5, 336 tests were carried out in the municipalities.
According to Araújo, 33 patients are under the treatment at the Vera Cruz Isolation Center- 11 in the area of obstetrics and one pregnant woman who had a fetal death, 17 in internal medicine, four of whom were in a severe condition, 13 with the moderate condition, while those patients who are under the treatment at I pediatrics, one considered severe condition and four in a moderate condition.
The coordinator also informed that the health authorities have decided to adopt the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) regarding the discharge criteria for patients.
