Poetry
Dionisio de Jesus Lopes
In our yesteryears you were part…
You’d taught us to read and write,
And let us know the politics.
You’d made us a flying kite!
You were indeed the shepherd,
The guide of the lost sheep.
You were truly our shield,
From invaders you kept.
You’re the thirst-quencher,
The true life-giving water…
Your memories we recall.
You’d made us rise from fall!
You are the light and hope…
Batina Mutin, long live!
