DILI, 21 may 2021 (TATOLI)– Timor-Leste on Friday confirmed 172 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, pushing the national case tally to 2.469 so far, the CIGC said in a statement.
The new infections included 155 cases in Dili and 17 from municipalities, the CIGC said.
The country also reported another 95 recoveries, taking the total to 2,807, the statement said, adding the death toll increased to 11 after one new fatality was recorded yesterday.
Timor-Leste has been enduring the COVID-19 community transmission since April 25. In a bid to flatten the infection curve, the country has closed down all schools, religious activities, and other business activities nationwide.
The Country began its first anti-COVID-19 inoculation drive on April 7. MoH’s said so far, almost 20.526 out of the country’s 1,338,954 -target population has already been vaccinated. While the second vaccination phase the country targeting to inoculate 80% of the population out of 1.338,954 population.
