DILI, 16 june 2021 (TATOLI)- Three Filipinos died in Timor-Leste and their bodies are still stored in the National Hospital Guido Valadares (HNGV) refrigerator.

Vice Consul & Third Secretary Atty Laser Blitz B. Sumagaysey said all Filipinos in Timor-Leste are being controlled by the Philippines Embassy in Timor-Leste, but it is very unfortunate because three Filipinos have died and one of them committed suicide.

“There are 3 Filipinos who have died, 2 women and 1 man, both people died of illness and 1 woman died due to suicide. They died in january and 2 others died in february and now their bodies are still stored at the National Hospital Guido Valadares (HNGV),” said Sumagaysay to Journalist of TATOLI News Agency at the Philippines Embassy, Farol on wednesday.

He said the plan was for the three bodies to be tucked away along with about 100 passengers who would be repatriated on june 30 to be buried in the Philippines.

The Philippines Embassy in Timor-Leste also pays the three Filipino bodies that are still stored in the refrigerator for $25 USD per person per day.

“From january until now the Philippines Embassy in Timor-Leste spends $75 every day to pay for the three bodies in the HNGV because it is the responsibility of the Philippine Embassy in Timor-Leste,” he said.

Sumagaysay said that until now the HNGV has coordinated with the Philippines Embassy in Timor-Leste to provide payment discounts and this plan will be discussed in depth with the Philippines Ambassador at the next meeting.
