DILI, 17 june 2021 (TATOLI) – The Integrated Crisis Management Center (ICGC), on thursday, registered 26 new cases of COVID-19 in the country, with 116 recoveries, while the active cases were 1.185.
Of the 26 new cases, 21 were detected in Dili, while the rest were in the municipalities, including 3 in Bobonaro, and 1 each in Manufahi and Viqueque municipality.
CIGC spokesman, Dr Rui Araújo said the majority of today’s cases were between the ages of 12 and 59, including a child under 12 and three elderly persons over 60.
Araujo added 26 patients were under treatment at Vera Cruz Isolation Center and 2 patients were in critical condition.
In the last 24 hours, the National Health Laboratory (NHL) had performed 705 PCR tests, including 69 sentinel surveillance tests, 7 through contact tracing, 45 via random screening, 569 were performed following the request for travel authorization out of capital Dili, and 15 for the international travel authorization.
The evolution of the COVID-19 in Timor-Leste, the incidence rate of coronavirus is, on average, in the last week, of 4.2 per 100 thousand inhabitants, while in Dili of 11.1, and in Baucau 6.0.
The CIGC reiterated its call on communities to practice the health and safety guidelines recommended by the Ministry of Health and the WHO to continue combating the spread of the virus, despite the ICGC’s records showing a slight drop in cases over the past week in the capital Dili and some municipalities.
There has been a total of 8504 lab-confirmed cases of the virus in Timor-Leste, with 7300 recoveries, 19 deaths, and active cases were 1,185, according to data of the CIGC.
