DILI, 28 june 2021 (TATOLI) –United States (US) ambassador to Timor-Leste, Kevin Blackstone said that the US through its Embassy in Timor-Leste (TL) always provides assistance because of the bilateral cooperation between US and TL.

“Our goal is to support Timor-Leste because Timor-Leste is also a democratic country, therefore the U.S wants democracy in a country to be improved, press freedom must exist and Timor-Leste must prioritize human rights,” said the US Ambassador Blackstone in the Ministry of Planning and Territorial Office Hudi Laran to the Journalist of TATOLI News Agency on monday.

“We see that Timor-Leste has implemented the doctrine of democratization in Timor-Leste because of that all the assistance and human resource development that we offer to Timor-Leste is not of interest,” he added.
He said all aspects such as education, health, agriculture, aviation, defense and other assistance such as humanitarian assistance that we provide with a sincere heart without any interest.
