DILI, 05 july 2021 (TATOLI)- The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is offering scholarships for the public employers in Timor-Leste (TL).
JICA’s representative in Timor-Leste, Goto Ko said, JICA provides scholarships for government employees in various ministries and institutions.
“This scholarship is intended offering for all employees in many ministries such as the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Home Affairs, among others,” The representative of Japan International Agency (JICA), Goto Ko told to Tatoli Agency, in his office at Praia dos Coqueiros, this monday.
Ko said the scholarship program will benefit the recipients of education, health, environment and law through the Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS) which is provided by Japanese Grant AID program.
“The JDS program is all about providing opportunities to employees at the masters level. But JICA will provide scholarships at the doctoral level in the next few years,” he said.
In 2019, 24 of government employees will participate in the JDS program from JICA, where it is confirmed that scholarship holders will be involved in the agency program as JICA alumni associations.
He explained, the 24 scholarship recipients will complete their master’s studies in august this year. This master’s scholarship program is given to government employers in all government institutions, and it includes some lecturers from the National University of Timor Loro sa’e, a benefit for scholarship program since 2018.
Some of the scholarship programs benefit government workers who are aged 22 to 45 years with a minimum of 2 years of work experience.
