DILI, 08 july 2021 (TATOLI)- United Nation Development Programa (UNDP) and State Secretary for Vocational Training and Employment (SSCTE) signed an agreement letter to implement ‘Together Serve Community’ or ‘Hamutuk Serbi Komunidade’ program.
This agreement is realized, today, to ensure the program that will be carried out in coordination on two parts, SSVTE and UNDP. The ‘Hamutuk Sebi Komunidade’ program will be participated by ten of SSVTE staff to ensure the effectiveness of program implementation.
This program will benefit to 50 areas in around Dili municipalities which identified on floods devastating.
This program is focus cleaning activities in the areas affected areas to recovery areas which affected by disaster natural was happen in last april.
Director of SSVET, Paulo Alves said that the purpose of these 10 civil servants is to monitor and evaluate for the project implementation.
The worker will receive intensive funds of $5 a day to help with cleaning activities and the fund is provided by UNDP.
“The intensive is provided to respond to cleaners staff needs composed of food and transportation. This program will help each village affected by floods devastating and each village will be recruited 150 cleaners staffs,” The Director Paulo explained told to TATOLI Agency at the SSPVET’s meeting room, in Caicoli, this Thursday
Secretary of State for Professional Training and Employers (SSVET), Alarico do Rosario hopes that the ten staffs will work in responsibility to ensure the program implementation of ‘Hamutuk Serbi Komunidade’, all staff must show professionalism to work closely with affected people and ensuring the program will be working smoothly.
“You are there to help implement the program, because it is an assistance for the flood victims, I hope this program is not only carried out in Dili Municipality but can also expanded to other municipalities that affected by natural disaster,” He said.
UNDP representative, Lazima Onta-Bhatta said that this project is carried out in Dili municipality due suffers for major damaged, but further initiatives would be expanded if UNDP received financial assistance.
“This funding is only for Dili because the most affected by flooding, this particular initiative will not run but if possible it will be expanded to other municipalities, from the existing assessment are taking 5 municipalities,” said Lazima.
The ‘Hamutuk Serbi Komunidade’ program is in coordination between UNDP, SSVTE, Ministry of Administration and MSSI with a funding of $1.3 million dollars. This fund was obtained from the Government of Timor-Leste, the Asia Development Bank (ADB) supported by the Japanese government, the Government of South Korea and UNDP itself.
