“Each household receives 30 zincs roof, seven sacks of cement and 3kg of construction nails,” Xavier made the comments during the handover ceremony of the materials to the affected households in Lemorana Sub-Village of Dare Village, in Dili, today.
At the same place, the Chief Village of the Lemorana Hamlet, Alicia da Costa thanked AADPP for the support, saying the materials would help the families to rebuild their houses that were destroyed during the Tropical Cyclone Seroja the rain on april-4.
“Since my hamlet was hit by the disaster, these families received staple food and other emergency materials from various entities, but not the construction materials. So, I can’t thank AADPP enough for the support,” Costa said.
“Among these affected families, one family still lives in the Lemorana Hamlet office, one family stays with me in my house, four families live in a neighbor’s house and another family chose to rent a room somewhere in the Lemorana area,” Costa affirmed.
In addition, Fernando da Silva de Jesus, one of the affected families said that he was delighted with the support: “I would like to express my gratitude to those Timorese workers in Australia who support us through AADPP.
