DILI, 14 july 2021 (TATOLI) – The Head of the Emergency Health Services, Nilton da Silva informed that three Timorese people died in Indonesia recently, two died of Covid-19.
“We have three Timorese people who died in Indonesia, consisting of a man and two women. These patients had been treated at the MRCCC Siloam, in Jakarta, Indonesia,” Silva told TATOLI, in Dili, today.
He affirmed that of the three deceased bodies, one died on saturday (10/07), one on monday (12/07), and another one died on tuesday (13/07).
“The two patients who died of COVID-19 were buried in Indonesia in accordance with the Indonesian health protocols. The other deceased might be transported to Timor-Leste, but it depends on the Covid-19 situation in Indonesia and also depends on the government decision to whether to bring the diseased body to be buried in Timor-Leste during the Covid-19 time. You know, of the three deceased bodies, one is a veteran,” Silva said.
The Ministry of Health received a letter from the Indonesian health authorities states that due to the cases of Covid-19 mounted in Indonesia, thus, Indonesian hospitals are currently not taking patients from Timor-Leste, saying MoH will be notified to send the patients again to be treated at Indonesian hospitals, once the Covid-19 cases in Indonesia were restored.
According to a list provided by the Ministry of Health, there are 12 patients to be sent to have intensive treatment at Indonesian hospitals. However, Timor-Leste’s health authorities haven’t received notification from Indonesia regarding the date to take the patients.
