DILI, 21 july 2021 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste, today, records 31 new cases of COVID-19, with 50 recoveries, and the active cases were 739.
Of the new cases, 25 cases were detected in capital Dili, while the rest were identified in the municipalities, including three in Viqueque, two in Aileu and one in Baucau municipality.
The spokesperson of CIGC, Dr. Rui Maria de Araújo said that of the 31 new cases, only 25.8 percent were symptomatic.
He said of today’s cases, 29 were between the ages of 12 and 59, including two elderly persons over 60. These new cases are made up of 18 men and 13 women.
Araujo informed that 11 patients were under intensive treatment at Vera Cruz Isolation Center, where two patients were in critical condition.
In the last 24 hours, the National Health Laboratory (LNS) has performed 445 PCR tests, including 18 sentinel surveillance tests, 11 through contact tracing, 27 via random screening, 363 were carried out following the request for travel authorization out of capital Dili, 14 for the international travel authorization, and 12 in quarantines.
The evolution of the COVID-19 in Timor-Leste, the incidence rate of coronavirus is, on average, in the last week, of 2.7 per 100 thousand inhabitants, while in Dili 6.3, Viqueque 5.1 and Baucau 4.3.
The CIGC reiterated its call on communities to practice the health and safety guidelines recommended by the Ministry of Health and the WHO to continue combating the spread of the virus in the country despite the ICGC’s records showing a slight drop in cases over the past week in the capital Dili and some municipalities.
There has been a total of 10.205 lab-confirmed cases of the virus in Timor-Leste, with 9.440 recoveries, active cases were 739 and 26 deaths, according to data of the Ministry of Health.
In Timor-Leste, of the 754.864 eligible groups, 253.780 (33.6%) had received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Of the number, around 65.707 (8.7%) have also received their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
