DILI, 03 august 2021 (TATOLI) -The outgoing Ambassador of Timor-Leste to Cuba, Loro Horta, returned to Timor-Leste after completed his mission in Cuba.
Ambassador Horta formally meets with the Government of Timor-Leste to express his gratitude to the Government.
“I meet with the government’s Minister of Presidential for the Council of Minister, Fidelis Manuel Leite Magalhaes to extend my deep gratitude for the support given to me during my five years mission in Cuba starting from 2016 to 2021,” said Loro Horta to Journalists at the Palacio do Governo Dili.
During the meeting with the Government, Mr. Horta discussed the professional work of the Health workers in the prevention of covid-19 in Timor-Leste.
“Under the leadership of PM Taur Matan Ruak, Timor-Leste has successfully overcome the Covid-19 in Timor-Leste, and I am proud that everyone fulfills the measure implemented by the Government and the Ministry of Health.,” he said.
“I am very impressed with Taur Matan Ruak’s leadership. Therefore, even though my mission as Ambassador of Timor-Leste to Cuba has been completed, but I am willing to help Taur Matan Ruak ‘s government in the future,” Horta said.
At the same Time, Former Ambassador Horta asks the new Envoy Eusébio Corsino, to maintain the cooperation program in the areas of health and education.
“I ask the new ambassador, Eusébio Corsino, to continue giving the priority in the cooperation with the Government of Cuba, particularly in the areas of health and education”, he said.
It is recalled that Loro Horta was appointed as Ambassador designated to Cuba on February 11, 2016, and ended his diplomatic mission on June 25, 2021.
