DILI, 05 july 2021 (TATOLI) – Timorese Prime Minister, Taur Matan Ruak on Thursday called on the citizens who have not yet been vaccinated against the coronavirus to have the shot as new infections climbed sharply in recent weeks in Ermera municipality following the report from the SIJK.
Earlier on Wednesday, the country’s coronavirus management integrated center, recommended the government imposed the isolation zone restriction and home confinement in Emera municipality.
“The purpose of imposing the Isolation Zone Restricted entering and exit Ermera municipality is to prevent the people from covid-19 and get all the population vaccinated,” PM Taur Matan Ruak told reporters today.
PM said to prevent the people from the disease, the only way to do is to get all people vaccinated.
“We still have enough vaccines to cover the population in Timor-Leste who has not been vaccinated,” said PM.
PM explained that those who have received full vaccination will be free to go anywhere, therefore everyone is advised to get vaccinated since the country has enough vaccines.
As of now, the number of positive cases in Ermera is raising to 589, while only 12% of the people in Ermera have been vaccinated against covid-19.
