DILI, 19 august 2021 (TATOLI) – The World Food Program (WFP) in Timor-Leste, today, presents a song called ‘We Are WFP’ to the WFP’s headquarters in Rome to commemorate World Humanitarian Day (WHD).
“We are honored that we can present the song called “We Are WFP” to the global celebration of the WHD at WFP Headquarters in Rome, Italy,” WFP-TL Representative and Country Director, Dageng Liu told TATOLI at the WFP office, in Dili, today.
Liu said the song was composed by two talented WFP staff members: “This song shows our colleagues’ passion and commitment about how we can contribute to improving the food security and nutrition in Timor-Leste. It is the inspiration and commitment and we are very proud to be part of the WFP family members to providing support to the people in need.”
At the same place, the arranger of the song ‘We Are WFP’, Natalio Raimundo Soares, one of the WFP-TL staff members said that the song was composed by WFP-TL Program Policy Officer, Anastacio Soriano, aiming to spread the message about the work of WFP in Timor-Leste.
“Apart from pamphlets, social media, and mainstream media, we can also spread the messages about improving food security and nutrition through music. So, this song is to spread the work and programs that WFP-TL had been doing in Timor-Leste to assist those in need. Such as school feeding, food and nutrition for mothers and children, and so on,” said Soares.
Tonight this music will be presented during the commemoration of the WHD at WFP’s headquarter in Rome, Italy, said Soares.
