DILI, 21 september 2021 (TATOLI) – The World Food Program (WFP) delivered ten laptops and printing boards to the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs and Social Communication (MPASC) to support the work of Radio and Television stations across Timor-Leste.
“We delivered ten laptops and four printers to the MPASC. These materials will later be delivered to the Radio and Television of Timor – Leste,” WFP representative Dageng Liu told reporters at the government palace.
Mr. Liu recalled that the WFP allocated 16 thousand US dollars for the acquisition of equipment: “This offer was just a start. There will be more,”
The Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Social Communication, Francisco Jeronimo, thanked the WFP for the support given to the government.
“The executive and the WFP have established ties cooperate. The equipment will then be handed over to Radio and Television of Timor – Leste. I am very grateful to the WFP,” he told reporters.
He stressed that through this equipment the WFP can disseminate information on the issue of maternal and child nutrition, saying as for now Timor-Leste still records a high number of stunting.
The President of the Administration of RTTL. EP, Jose Belo, referred, in turn, that the institution needs equipment, adding that last April some equipment was damaged by the floods.
“Some of our equipment was damaged due to the floods which were happened on april 4. Thus this support will ease our work,” he said.
