WFP offers Foods Assistance for 55 Disability Persons in Hera Rehabilitation Center

DILI, 1 October, 2021 (TATOLI)- World Food Programme offered foods support to the 55 Disability persons in the center of rehabilitation in Hera.

Program Policy Officer WF Timor Leste, Anastácio Soriano said that WFP assisted Rehabilitation Center “Liman Hamutuk” to a total of 55 people including people with disabilities. 

The foods items support composed of Rice, Beans, eggs, and cooking oil.

He added that this support aims to provide the food portion and ensure food is available at their home to be consumed and it is considerable for person subsides.

“The food provided by WFP to ensure the nutrition needed for the disabled persons to be consumed during three months while they are living in a rehabilitation center. It is first support which WFP has provided to the disabled persons,” said Anastácio Soriano

WFP ensuring the food provided to the beneficiaries were nutritive foods.

The WFP has purchased the food items in a total amount of 5.000 USD to offer to the Center Rehabilitation of Fila Liman.

“The budget operated for two activities one is to purchase nutritive foods to the 55 disable persons and fixing chicken coop and raising chicken to produce more fresh eggs,” he said.

37 years old, Manuel Soares was one of the 55 disable beneficiary appreciates the support from the WFP, saying the support is enough to cover two to four days needed.
