DILI, 10 october 2021 (TATOLI) – In the past 24 hours, 12 new COVID-19 cases were detected in Timor-Leste, with 37 recoveries, and the active cases dropped to 222, said Rui Maria de Araujo, the Coordinator of the Integrated Crisis Management Center (SIJK).
According to today’s figure, nine new cases were detected in Dili, two in Covalima, and one in RAEOA.
Araujo said 25 percent of the new cases are fully vaccinated. These 12 new cases include four men and eight women.
Of the new cases, 10 were between the ages of 12 and 59, including a case under 20 and an elderly person over 60.
Araujo said 66.6 percent of today’s cases were symptomatic.
There are 22 people with COVID-19 in hospital and four of those are in critical condition, with two on ventilators.
In the past 24 hours, the National Health Laboratory (LNS) has performed 51 PCR tests, including four through contact tracing, seven via random screening, 25 for the international travel authorization, and 14 in quarantines.
The SIJK kept calling on communities to practice the health and safety guidelines recommended by the Ministry of Health (MoH) and the WHO to continue combating the spread of the virus.
Since april 20, SIJK has recorded a total of 19.673 cases of COVID-19, 19.332 recoveries, and 119 deaths.
In Timor-Leste, of the 754.864 eligible groups, 64.2 percent had received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, of which 40.5 percent have been fully vaccinated.
