DILI, 12 october 2021 (TATOLI) – In the past 24 hours, Timor-Leste recorded six new COVID-19 cases, 52 recoveries, and the active cases dropped to 162, said Rui Maria de Araujo, the Coordinator of the Integrated Crisis Management Center (SIJK).
According to today’s figure, four new cases were detected in Dili, and two were in Bobonaro.
Araujo said 17 percent of the new cases are fully vaccinated. These six new cases include three men and three women.
Of the new cases, five were between the ages of 12 and 59, including an elderly person over 60.
Araujo said 66.6 percent of today’s cases were symptomatic.
There are 16 people with COVID-19 in hospital and three of those are in critical condition, with a patient on a ventilator.
In the past 24 hours, the National Health Laboratory (LNS) has performed 122 PCR tests, including 40 through random screening, and 14 for the international travel authorization, and 69 in quarantines.
The SIJK kept calling on communities to practice the health and safety guidelines recommended by the Ministry of Health (MoH) and the WHO to continue combating the spread of the virus.
Since Timor-Leste’s outbreak began in April 2020, the country has recorded 19.681 cases, 19.400 recoveries, and 119 deaths.
In Timor-Leste, of the 754.864 eligible groups, 65 percent had received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, of which 41.2 percent have been fully vaccinated.
