DILI, 13 october 2021 (TATOLI) – The Ministry of Health (MoH), and the Iheal Medical Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia signed an agreement on the installation of electrocardiography to help the diagnosis and treatment of heart diseases at Guido Valadares National Hospital (HNGV).
“A team of the Iheal Medical Centre Kuala Lumpur will come and help us with the installation of the electrocardiography at HNGV,” Clinical Director of the Guido Valadares National Hospital (HNGV), Marcelino Correia told reporters at his office, at HNGV, in Dili, on tuesday.
Although the team of the Iheal Medical Centre Kuala Lumpur hasn’t come yet to set up the electrocardiography, Timorese cardiologists continue attending the heart disease patients
Correia said the installation of the electrocardiogram would help to reduce the need for overseas cardiovascular disease treatment.
“I hope that next year we will have the electrocardiography installed, which will help to reduce the number of treatments of patients with heart diseases overseas,” said Correia.
He said currently, there are seven cardiologists are working at the HNGV.
