DILI, 23 october 2021 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste will sign a loan agreement with Asian Development Bank (ADB) worth US$35 million to support the implementation of the digitalization of the electrical distribution network in Timor-Leste.
The implementation of the digitalization of the electrical distribution networks aims to improve the electrical distribution services in Timor-Leste.
The President of the Eletricidade de Timor-Leste, Public Enterprise (CE.P), Paulo Silva presented EDTL, E.P’s plan to Prime Minister, Taur Matan Ruak before the implementation of the project.
“We have finalized the preparation process and definitely the agreement will be signed in November,” Silva made the comments after meeting Prime Minister, Taur Matan Ruak at the Palace of Government, in Dili, on thursday.
He said the digitalization of the electrical distribution network would facility EDTL, E.P’s staff to easily detect a power failure.
“The US$35 also will be used to construct the offices of the EDTL, E.P across the 12 municipalities, including RAEOA,” said Silva.
