DILI, 16 december 2020 (TATOLI) – The National Parliament approved today, december 16 2021, the 2022 Revenue and Expenditure General State Budget (GSB) worth US$2 billion, in the overall vote, with 44 votes in favor, 21 against, and no abstention.
“The 2022 State Budget Bill has been approved in the National Parliament,” said President of National Parliament, Aniceto Guterres during the plenary.
Prime-Minister, Taur Matan Ruak, in his closing speech during the plenary session, thanked “all the parliamentarians who expressed their support for the 2022 General State Budget”
It is said that the government has approved the next year’s state budget bill for six national priorities worth US$1,675 million, now it grows to US$2 billion.
This amount will be allocated to six priority programs – human resource development, namely education, professional training, and health; housing and social inclusion; productive sectors, especially agriculture, tourism, environment, and connectivity; private sector and cooperative development; rural development and, ultimately, good governance.
The initial proposal for the 2022 State Budget is US$1.675 billion, consisting of the Central Government Budget, the Budget for the Oé-Cusse Ambeno Special Administrative Region, and the Social Security Budget.
The 2022 budget will be distributed among various categories – $233 million is allocated for salaries and wages, 449.8 million for goods and services, 565.9 million for public transfers, 24.4 million for small capital, and 401.7 million for development capital.
