DILI, 24 january 2022 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste will hold a business forum in non-petroleum sectors, said the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs (MCAE), Joaquim Amaral.
Amaral said the General Coordinator of the National Authority for Expo Dubai in Timor-Leste (ANED-TL), Manuel Vong, and the Executive Director of TradeInvest, Arcanjo da Silva, will be present, among others, at the international event.
“We are currently preparing everything regarding our trip to Dubai to attend the non-oil sector business forum that will take place on february 24, 2022. The delegation will leave for Dubai on february 22,” said Amaral after having a meeting with the Prime Minister, at the Palace of the Government.
Amaral said Timor-Leste will use the opportunity to encourage international investors to invest in Timor-Leste.
“At the business forum, we will share with our potential investors. If they express interest in investing in our country, then they can immediately register themselves,” he added.
The exhibition took place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in the Middle East, between october 1, 2021, and march 31, 2022, with the participation of more than 190 countries.
Previously, Amaral said that the business forum would be an excellent opportunity for Timor-Leste to receive new foreign investors.
He said the exhibition gave Timor-Leste the opportunity to present all the potential of non-petroleum sectors that the country could offer to international visitors.
He states that through the business forum, international investors would get information about Timor-Leste’s products.
“Our team will be giving information to anyone who is visiting Timor-Leste’s stand in Dubai. About the products, when an entrepreneur expresses its interest in investing in Timor-Leste, it must formalize the commercial relationship with Timor-Leste. So far, coffee has attracted many visitors as it has a unique flavor from those of other countries,” she concluded.
