DILI, 02 february 2022 (TATOLI)- The President of the Democratic Republic of Timor – Leste, Francisco Guterres “Lú-Olo respects and recognizes the services of Lieutenant General Lere Anan Timur as the Commander of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Timor – Leste (F-FDTL).
“I would like to pay my sincere respects to Lieutenant General who has ended his military career, He has made big dedication and contributions through his military career in defending the country for many years who is respected by the people and all F- FDTL members to defend the nation and state of Timor-Leste that we love, but I also respect His decision that wishes to rest from the F- FDTL,” said President of the Republic Francisco Guterres in his speech on the 21st anniversary of Falintil’s Transformation into F-FDTL at the Ministry of Defense, Fatuhada, Dili on wednesday.
Lieutenant General Tito da Costa Cristovão (Lere Anan Timur) was officially dismissed on january 28, 2022 through the Presidential Decree No. 4/2022, dated january 28, 2022, based on the Government’s request to dismiss Lere Anan Timur from his position as the Commander of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Timor – Leste.
In addition, the President of the Republic also issued the Decree No. 5/2022, dated 28 january to appoint Major General, Domingos Raul “Falur Rate Laek” to replace Lere Anan Timur as the Commander of F-FDTL in Timor – Leste.
