Prime Minister Ruak postpones visit to Australia

DILI, 08 february 2022 ( TATOLI) – The Timorese Prime minister postponed his visit to Australia for health reasons.

“The Prime Minister of Timor–Leste, Taur Matan Ruak has postponed his official visit to Australia on wednesday 09 because the result of Swab shown that Prime Minister Ruak and his wife Isabel da Costa Ferreira are positive SARS – COV- 2,” referred note accessed by Tatoli, today.

Despite being positive for Covid-19, the chief executive and his wife are in good condition.

According to the medical recommendation, the head of government needs to rest at home according to health protocols, awaiting the new test.

About the request for postponement of the official working visit to Australia, the Prime Minister had communicated with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Adajiza Albertina Xavier Reis Magno to conduct a formal communication to the government of Australia and will be scheduled on the other occasion.

According to the agenda, the Chief Executive will leave for Australia this wednesday (09/02) on the Qantas Airlines plane and will return to Timor-Leste on february 16, 2022.
