DILI, 11 february 2022 (TATOLI)- The Vice Minister of Interior (MI) António Armindo, informed that the Government through the Ministry of Interior will recruit 720 candidate of the National Police of Timor-Leste (PNTL) to strengthen the National security in the Territory of Timor-Leste.
“We did not recruit PNTL this year but, we will recruit 720 candidates of PNTL in 2023 to strengthen the national security in the territory of Timor- Leste,” Vice Minister António Armindo told reporters at the Ministry of Interior ‘s office Vila verde, Dili this friday.
Vice Minister of Interior, António Armindo, explained that PNTL must be recruited considering that currently the quantity of PNTL in across the Timor-Leste is not sufficient to conduct the state security because many PNTL have died and also many PNTL will be reformed based on their age.
“We see that many PNTL have died and also many PNTL members are entering the age of reform, therefore the recruitment of 720 candidates of PNTL must be recruited to replace them and strengthen the National security in Timor-Leste,” António said.
Previously, Vice Minister of Interior António Armindo, had submitted a proposal for 720 PNTL candidates to the Financial Policy Revision Commission (KROP) in 2022 but this plan has been postponed and will continue to recruit the candidates of PNTL in 2023.
Therefore, it is recommended to the youths of Timor-Leste who wish to become a member of PNTL to train physically and mentally to complete the test of PNTL in 2023.
