DILI, 16 february 2022 (TATOLI) – The Government approved today, in the Council of Ministers, the accession to the Framework Agreement on the facilitation of paperless cross-border trade in Asia and Pacific.
“This agreement aims to facilitate the development of digital trade between Asian and Pacific countries”, said the Minister of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Fidélis Magalhães, at the Government Palace, in Dili.
The official expressed his satisfaction with the agreement, as he believes that it will provide Asian and Pacific countries with a new tool, in addition to a digital complement.
The acquisition of these new instruments aims, according to the official, to improve the implementation of said agreement as well as the development of cross-border electronic commerce. The latter will be supported by a range of general principles and a dedicated intergovernmental platform.
