DILI, 18 february 2022 (TATOLI) – The National Commission for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Timor-Leste Leste promotes training in Science and Mathematics for teachers of the 1st and 2nd cycles of Basic Education.
“The training is aimed at teachers of the 1st and 2nd cycles of Basic Education. The trainers who will deliver the training are part of the UNESCO team and the National Institute for the Training of Teachers and Education Professionals of Timor-Leste (INFORDEPE)”, said today the Executive Director of the National Commission of UNESCO in Timor-Leste, Francisco Barreto , to Tatoli, in Balide, Dili.
The executive secretary recalled that the team of trainers attended, the previous year, a course carried out by a university institution in Japan, with a view to acquiring new skills.
The official added that the training in question covers all teachers of the 1st and 2nd Basic Education who are now active. Its completion is scheduled for the end of may this year.
It is recalled that Francisco Barreto stated that UNESCO had produced a manual in the areas of Science and Mathematics for teachers of the 1st and 2nd cycles.
“According to estimates, it is expected that about a thousand teachers will attend the training”, he concluded.
