DILI,28 february 2022 (TATOLI)- The National Elections Commission (CNE) will distribute the calendar for the presidential elections tomorrow.
“Regarding the issue of handing over the electoral campaign calendar to presidential candidates, the CNE has guaranteed that the distribution process will take place tomorrow,” the President of CNE, José Belo told Tatoli, at the Laline – Lariguto ‘s Auditorium of CNE ‘s office Caicoli, Dili on monday.
It is recalled that the CNE finalized the calendar of the presidential election campaign by last saturday.
On february 26, the CNE invited all the candidates’ representatives to participate in a meeting in order to adjust the dates for the campaign actions that each candidate will carry out.
“Some candidacies present the same dates and places where the campaign actions in the capital will take place. That’s why the CNE decided to invite the representatives of each candidate to address the issue,” President CNE, Belo added.
According to the document of the Technical Secretariat for Electoral Administration (STAE) the electoral campaign for the presidential elections takes place between march 2nd and 16th.
The election campaign period ends two days before the vote, which takes place on 19 of march, 2022.
There are 16 candidates of President of the Republic namely; Isabel da Costa Ferreira, Hermes Correia Barros, Francisco Guterres “Lú Olo, Maria Angela Freitas da Silva, Rogerio Tiago Lobato, Anacleto Pinto Pereira, Maria Helena Lopes Pires, Lere Anan Timur, Armanda Berta dos Santos, Antero Benedito da Silva, Martinho Gusmão, José Ramos Horta and Felisberto Araújo Barros.
