DILI, 02 march 2022 (TATOLI- Minister of Health is reporting the 4640 early marriages for teenagers across the country.
Chief Department of Health Minister Focus on Teenage Health, Silvano Pedro said the minister of Health has conducted a data collection for teenage pregnancy and early marriage in 2021. It is done to all municipalities across the country.
“The data also shows that Bobonaro 936, Ermera 822 and Liquiça 601 pregnancies. The issue was happening due to the teenage lack of knowledge on controlling themselves.” Chief Department of Health Minister Focus on Teenage Health, Silvano Pedro told Tatoli via phone, this wednesday.
He added that after a young girl is given birth underage will impact the mother physically and mentality. It is also affected by depression and anemia and even malnutrition, as a mother will be bleeding during the give birth process.
A woman must be completely turning to age 24 to be pregnant. Age can ensure that women mature in mentality and physicality.
He stressed that if a girl gets pregnant underage it is not good for health. The girl is not really physical and mental.
Even a girl is successful in giving birth to a child but the impact can be on socio-economy. A girl is not achieving a real situation living in a household and she will lack the responsibility to take care of her baby.
According to Minister of Health Data shows that the pregnancy women under age 19 essisting in municipality level composed of Aileu total 100, Ainaro 154, Baucau 431, Bobonaro 936, Covalima 418, Dili 511, Ermera 822, Lautem 80, Liquiça 601, Manatuto 81, Manufahi 122, Oe-Cusse 172 and VIqueque 212. The total is 4640.
“This date assessment is collecting from 12 municipalities and including the special Administration zone Ambeno RAEOA,” He concluded.
