DILI, 03 march 2022 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste’s Government through the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (MoFAC), Adaljiza Magno, had a courtesy meeting with the Director general of the United nations office at Geneva, Tatiana Valovaya, on the sidelines of the High-Level Segment of the 49th Session of the Human Rights Council.

According to an official statement released by MNEC, addressing Tatoli today said that, during the meeting, both parties shared ideas on the importance of the visibility and activeness in the multilateral arena, the imperative of the integration to regional economic organization and its challenges.
“The conversation also covered progress of Timor-Leste’s accession to ASEAN and WTO, commitment of achieving SDG’s and Covid-19 responses,” added.

At the same time, Minister Magno seized the occasion highlighting the vital role of the UN agencies in facilitating the deliberation of the COVID-19 vaccines.
In the meeting, Minister Magno was accompanied by the Permanent representative of Timor-Leste to the United Nations office and other international organizations in Geneva, Lurdes Bessa, Permanent Representative of Timor-Leste to the United Nations in New York, Karlito Nunes.
