DILI, 10 march 2022 (TATOLI)-United Nations Resident Coordinator (UN) in Timor-Leste Roy Trivedy, appealed to all elements, especially young people, to promote peace in the success of the election of the Presidential Republic of the period of 2022-2027 which will be held on march 19.
“On behalf of the UN in Timor – Leste I appealed to everyone, especially young people, to conduct the President of the Republic ‘s election in a safe, free, fair and peaceful manner,” UN Resident Coordinator, Roy Trivedy, told TATOLI in Hotel Timor, Colmera, Dili today.
UN Resident Coordinator Roy Trivedy informed that, during the past two decades the general elections in Timor – Leste have undergone significant changes and therefore the UN hopes that these changes need to be improved to promote peace and mutual respect for human rights in Timor-Leste.
“I appreciate the hard efforts made by the Management Election Body such as the National Election Commission (CNE), the Secretariat of Technical Election Administration (STAE) and relevant institutions which had worked hard in inviting many international observers and National observers, to make direct observations in the success of the Presidential Republic ‘s election with safe, free, peaceful in promoting democracy and human rights in Timor Leste,” Roy Trivedy said.
