DILI, 19 march 2022 (TATOLI)– A New Presidential Candidate Felisberto Araújo Duarte said to be elected as a president, one must understand Timor-Leste’s constitutional law and multilingual skills.

According to Filisberto, preference is offered to people who respect the constitution of RDTL and have the ability to strengthen international bilateral relations with other countries.

“I am optimistic that no candidate will score in the full election, However, it will go to the second election period, and if I am not appointed for a second term, my vote will be given to the candidate who respects the RDTL Constitution,” Felisberto Araújo Duarte told reports at the polling center of EBC Bidau Akadiru-Hun Elementary School.

At the same time, Duarte added, it requires more preparation for the candidate for the next term in 2027, saying therefore this is a very meaningful experience to be gained from this opportunity.

“The preparation is focused on giving a comprehensive message to the old leaders to understand that a large part of the Timorese people suffers from a lack of job opportunities,”

According to Araujo, a good leader must focus on the national interest and avoid arrogant personality attitudes.

“I hope that in this presidential election, people will have a good judgment towards a good leader. A leader who has responsibilities towards his people especially for the younger generation and should take full responsibility to respect Timor-Leste’s constitutional law and bring prosperity to all people,”

Meanwhile, TimorLeste’s constitution recognize Tetum and Portuguese as the official language and Bahasa as well as English are the languages of works.
