DILI, 05 april 2022 (TATOLI)- The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MTCI), together with its partners realize the technical meeting to discuss the draft of tourism‘s development strategic plan to present in the inter-ministerial meeting on the month of may to obtain the official validation before submitted to the Council Minister meeting.
“We realized the technical meeting together with the partner from, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (MoFAC), Ministry of Interior (MoI), Ministry of Finance (MoF), Ministry of Coordinating and Economic Affair (MCAE), Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (MAF), to discuss the draft of tourism ‘s development strategic plan to present in the commission of inter – ministerial meeting, in may to get the validation before submitted to the Council Minister meeting, to get the approval as the baseline to develop the sector of tourism in Timor – Leste,’’ Director of Promotion of Tourism and International Relation of MCI, António da Silva told TATOLI at the MoFAC ‘s auditorium room, Praia dos Coqueiros, Dili, on this tuesday.
The Director of Promotion of Tourism and International Relation, António da Silva, explained, this meeting was participated by all Directors of MCI ‘s partners to discuss the draft of the development strategic plan to identify the tourism site and mapping to attract the international tourist to visit Timor–Leste.
At the same place, the Advisor of MCAE, Cesar Dias Quintas, said to develop the tourism ‘s sector all partners are required to work together with the objective, to develop the site of the tourism sector in order to attract the international tourist to Timor–Leste.
“MCAE ‘s role is to conduct the coordination line between the partners of the tourism sector to work together in developing the tourism sectors in Timor – Leste,’’ the Advisor of MCAE Cesar Dias Quintas, said.
The Advisor of MCAE Cesar Dias Quintas, informs that, development of Tourism in Timor–Leste is stopped significantly because the world faces the disease of Covid–19 pandemics including Timor –Leste. The Government of Timor–Leste through the MCI and MCAE working together with USAID had conduct the site of tourism and baseline to attract the international tourist to visit Timor–Leste in recovery the people ‘s economic through USAID ‘s program of Tourism for all and community tourism in across the Timor–Leste.
The tourism sites which had been identified are the Park of Nino Conis Santana, historical site of Ramelau, Cristo Rei, Tibar port, integration Tourism of Southeast Asia Nation (ASEAN), integration of immigration security tourism and the other related development tourism sector in Timor–Leste.
