DNTT installs three new traffic lights in Dili

DILI, 06 april 2022 (TATOLI) –  DNTT through the company of Malsam Savio Unipessoal Lda, has installed three new traffic lights in Dili. The traffic lights had been installed at the Kuluhun T-junction, Audian in front of Osan Mean Shop and Elemloi, Delta, The Director of the National Department of Land Transportation (DNTT), António da Costa informed.

“DNTT has opened a tender and the winner of the tender is the company of Malsam Savio Unipessoal Lda. They have been working last week for three months. We installed three traffic lights in that place to avoid the traffic jams,” said the Director of DNTT, when interviewed by the journalist of TATOLI News Agency in DNTT’s office Balide Dili, on this wednesday.

The Director of DNTT, António da Costa, explained that, the company of Malsam Unipessoal Lda, will also reinstall the traffic lights that have been damaged during this time.

 At the moment there are ten units of traffic lights that have been installed in Timor–Leste, the capital of Dili, at the center of the crowd and the addition of these three new traffic lights already has 13 units.

“DNTT continues to monitor the vehicle traffic in Dili and will install several new traffic lights in the corners of Dili, depending on the number of motorized vehicles to avoid the traffic jams and fatal accidents,” said Antonio da Costa.

Meanwhile, the budget which is issued by DNTT to the company of Malsam Savio Unipessoal Lda, for the installation of three new traffic light units in Kuluhun, Audian and Delta Elem Loy with amount of $83,539.95 cent, and will be installed over the next three months.

DNTT calls on the public not to throw stones at the traffic light in Dili because the installation of traffic lights uses the state‘s budget. DNTT wishes everyone for a sense of shared ownership so that it can be used for a long time, to avoid the traffic jams and fatal accidents in Timor–Leste.
