DILI, 05 May 2022 (TATOLI) – The Portuguese Ambassador Manuela Bairos met with the Timorese Prime Minister (PM), Taur Matan Ruak, to discuss the preparations for the visit of President Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, to Timor – Leste.
Manuela Bairos stressed that the visit of President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa will last three days to participate in the ceremony for the restoration of independence, and swearing-in of the new president, including a bilateral meeting with the Timorese government.
“Regarding the visit of our president, naturally there will be bilateral contact with the Prime Minister and it will be a very busy program because there are many activities to be carried out including the visit to Portuguese schools”, Manuela Bairos told Tatoli, in Farol, in Dili.
The Ambassador also highlighted that this meeting was to present greetings and to review the issues of bilateral reinforcement.
“It is a courtesy meeting to review our bilateral cooperation and get to know the short- and medium-term perspectives on the situations in Timor-Leste”, he concluded.
