DILI, 23 august 2022 (TATOLI)– Brazilian Police Force Officer and Timor-Leste Police Force officers provide three stages of training to 37 new members of the Timor-Leste Police Force.
The Military Police Advisor and Coordinator of Maubere VI, Rosemberg Pereira Dias Junior said the training provided to 37 new MPs was a three-stage training which included individual training, police operational training, and training of security authorities focusing on practices to build good performance to join the MPs.
“We offer capacity building to 37 new MPs for three months to improve their professional skills physical and mental because MPs need to have these skills in their work,”
“Several operations activities will be offered during the exercise such as containment, investigation, arrest, and detention,” Junior told reporters at the MP’s office, Kintál Boot this Tuesday.
At the same time, the Commander-in-Chief of the Timor-Leste MP Major Abel Da Costa ‘NIKI’ encouraged all candidates to follow the instructions of the instructor, adding that the points were to highlight discipline, punctuality, and respect.
“Everyone should have passion and courage. Candidates must respect and comply with all instructions from the instructor. They will guide you to become a professional and skilled member. You must respect all seniors from the highest rank to the lowest rank. You will get more skills and your fragrance to become a professional military policeman,” said Major NIKI.
Brigadier General and Deputy Head of State Major F-FDTL, Cornelio XImens ” Maunana ” said the 37 new members must have sufficient capacity to respond to the country’s needs, especially security issues.
“Therefore we recruited more MPs to respond to state security. We will appreciate your courage to become a professional to ensure the stability of the country,” said Maunana.
The training was offered by 6 instructors, three Brazilians, and three Timorese.
So far, Timor-Leste has a total of 186 Police Force who graduated from Maubere training and today 37 will join the group, which will bring the total number of MPs to 222 members of police forces in the country.
