DILI, 13 september 2022 (TATOLI)– Timor-Leste’s Prime Minister, Taur Matan Ruak signed a condolence book at the Embassy of Australia in Dili for the late Queen Elizabeth II who passed away at the age of 96, at her home in Scotland, where she had spent much of the summer.
In the condolence book, Prime Minister left a message of loss and condolences for the passing of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth.
“On behalf of the Government and the People of Timor-Leste, extend our heartfelt condolences to the Queen’s family, Government, and the People of the United Kingdom,”
At the same place, Australia’s Ambassador Bill Costello, New Zealand’s Ambassador Philip Hewitt, and The United Kingdom Honorary Consul Tracey Morgan joined the Prime Minister reflecting on Her Majesty’s contribution to maintaining unity and dignity throughout unprecedented change and turbulence in world affairs.

“On the National Day of Mourning on 22 September we invite you to observe one minute of silence at 11 am to mark your respect for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II,”
Queen Elizabeth II (Elizabeth Alexandra Mary was born April 21, 1926. Her reign of 70 years and 214 days was the longest of any British monarch and the second-longest recorded of any monarch of a sovereign country.
Queen Elizabeth II was a constitutional monarchy Queen of 16 sovereign states (known as the Commonwealth of Nations) and their territories and dependencies, and chairperson of the 54 members of Commonwealth States. Queen Elizabeth is also the Grand Governor of the Church of England.
When Queen Elizabeth II died, the throne was handed over without ceremony to her heir. Her eldest son, Charles, is elevated to the throne, as King Charles III.
