CCA meets PM  to present issues accomplished by the Christian Conference of Asia in TL

DILI, 22 september 2022 (TATOLI)- Christian Conference of Asia (CCA), Mathews George Chunakra met Prime Minister Taur Matan Ruak to present the issues that accomplished by the on the Association of Christianity.

“We are discussing with the Prime Minister on the Association of Christianity and the accomplishment and solidarity with Timorese people, Christian Conference of Asia has supported Timor-Leste and its people during their struggle for independence, this country,’’ Christian Conference of Asia (CCA), Mathews George Chunakra told Reporters at Prime Minister official residence, in Falor, thursday.

During the past several years, CCA through the church’s supporting the Timorese people fought for self-determination:” our time is coming again to be in solidarity with the people in a church in this country. Thus, I requested the General Secretary of the Christian Conference of Asia to visit this country,”

“We also discussed a number of issues related to the church Hosana Protestant in this country, because the Protestant Church in Timor-Leste (IPTL) is a member of CCA, and they are also certain unsettle issues relating to remarriage laws that need to be settled,”

At the same time, Mathews George Chunakra said, another issue being discussed is also about Timor-Leste being part of Grecian to join the ASEAN and Global community, adding that the accession to these organizations will bring improvement for Timor-Leste, particularly for the life of Timorese in this country.

In turn, Prime Minister, Taur Matan Ruak, was also delighted with all of the issues that were being presented to the PM.

CCA is the largest constituency, and it represents ant 65 million Christian in ASEAN region.
