Meanwhile, Cambodian Khiev Sameth has been elected as the new AFF president for the next five-year term.

“As the President of FFTL, I myself have been appointed as one of the Vice Presidents of the AFF. Today, we got the approval to lead the AFF for the next period 2022-2026,” Jeronimo told Tatoli.

Before the congress, each member of the federation was welcome to nominate their candidates.

One of the main criteria for nomination is that the candidate must be actively involved in world football.

He said that as the new Vice President, he will work with the team to continue to develop the AFF and football in the region.

“My presence here will be a bridge to the FFTL, AFF, and Fédération internationale de Football Association (FIFA).
