DILI, 21 november 2022 (TATOLI)-The New President of the KOICA Alumni Association of Timor-Leste (KAATL), Sabino Luis Perreira after being elected as new KAATL president said he will prioritize three important programs for 2023-2025.
“I have recently been elected to be a new president to lead KAATL in two years. I promise to focus on three important programs which I have designed to be implemented,” the New President of KAATL, Sabino Luis Pereira told the TATOLI agency in Timor Hotel, friday
The program is the promotion of community activity in TV talk shows, and workshops to share experiences with students and young Timorese people as also social activities.
the second program, promoting and increasing the number of participants to apply for the Capacity Improvement Advancement for Tomorrow (CIAT) program, to encourage government officials to apply for Korean scholarships which are offered by KOICA.
The third program, gathering and strengthening cooperation with all graduated students who have benefited from Korean scholarships for implementing all skills or knowledge they learned at Korean universities.
The Country Director of KOICA, Eunju Cha said KOICA congratulated the KAATL board led by Mr. Giz Kintaun Boavida for his dedication and hard work running the association despite many challenges faced during two years of leading KAATL.
“It is great appreciation for KAATL carried out another election for a new board for three years. We hope the new board will be more engaged with the Korean alumni and society to introduce and implement some essential program to contribute to the country’s development, and KOICA is committed to providing scholarships for Timorese to contribute to the human resource development” She said
So far KAATL is established to strengthen friendships and networks among all KOICA Alumni in Timor-Leste, until today over 712 Timorese have graduated with Bachelor, post-graduated, and master’s degrees from this program.
KAATL was funded by KOICA in the amount worth 15.000 USD.
